This course is for people who have knowledge to share but aren't sure how to put together a course or workshop. In this self-paced online class we start with the basics of course creation: lesson plans, class structure, writing objectives and proposals, marketing and promotion, and identifying your ideal students.
By the end of this course, you’ll be prepared to launch a death and dying class in your community.

We’ll identify the students you are best-suited to teach and the ideal content and format for your class.

You’ll learn how to create a lesson plan with modules that fulfill your objectives for the class.
Logistics for your class
You’ll learn how to find a venue, write a proposal, and create a formal syllabus in case you'd like to teach at a college or university.
Marketing and promotion
We’ll help you decide what to charge and how to attract students to your class.
Course Breakdown
Module 1
Welcome! I’ll introduce myself and give you a brief summary of what you can expect from this course. Plus we'll talk about your goals and the principles of adult education.

Module 2
You'll learn how to use modules to organize your class, whether it is a one-hour workshop or a full semester university course.
LENGTH: 1 HOUR
Module 3
You’ll learn how to write a formal syllabus or course proposal and get tips for venues and partners for your class, as well as how to communicate with your students outside of class.
LENGTH: 1 HOUR
Module 4
We’ll work on writing a class description, what to charge, and how to market and promote your class. This includes a Final Checklist you can use to make sure you're ready to launch your class.

About the Instructor
I'm a retired hospice physician and the current host of the popular podcast End-of-Life University. I'm passionate about end-of-life education because it's the best way to overcome our society's fear and avoidance of death. I would love to see death ed classes in every community for every age group and I'm here to help potential teachers learn how to create their own unique class and share the wisdom and knowledge they've gathered through their experiences.
